nestling 1,000 feet up on the northern edge of Dartmoor, above the Skaigh Valley, where the river Taw tumbles over the rocks, lies a little haven of peace – Belstone. A village of only 250 inhabitants, this close and friendly community ranges in age from toddlers to those in their nineties. The Tors is a proper pub, with food, situated in Belstone with amazing views.

(MDL) is a local museum in Okehampton, Devon, southwest England. It covers life in the Dartmoor area. With the museum opening in 1981 it is housed on three floors in an early19th-century mill and there is a waterwheel at the museum. The collections concentrate on the social history of Dartmoor and Okehampton from prehistoric times to the present.

is the second highest point on Dartmoor, Devon, South West England, at 619 metres above sea level. It is one of only two wholly English peaks south of the Peak District National Park—the other being nearby High Willhays—that are above 2,000 feet.

The Crossways Inn - Folly gate. A family run traditional pub, warm and welcoming. Serving excellent food on set days, pre booking advised. With an open fire creating a cosy feel during the winter. Children and well behaved dogs welcome.

There are many stunning beaches to visit too, Bude has many beautiful sandy beaches to choose from with surfing hotspots, vintage style beach huts and dog friendly choices. There are also spectacular views and unique natural attractions to be found - the Bude sea pool for example is cut into the rock at Summerleaze Beach providing a more relaxed dip or child friendly swim when the sea is rougher.
There is also access to the South West Coast Path, which offers some excellent walking routes, whether you enjoy a short stroll to a stunning picnic spot or prefer a more challenging hike. Bude has some unique rock formations which can provide something of a spectacle while exploring the area.
Heading south you have from iconic sandy beaches to intimate sheltered coves, Polperro’s beaches are gloriously varied. Dog friendly, family friendly, golden, pebbly, bustling or blissfully empty. Get in the surf at Fistral, enjoy the turquoise waters at Porthcurno or hunt for crabs at Looe.
